God, you guys are such pricks, you even hate price reductions.

Marvel could give out free McDonalds with every comic and you'd bitch that you prefer Burger King.

My shop sold out after one day (that's partially blamed on shitty ordering, though).

Ew. Who would prefer Burger King? :smt017

There's no way I would have shelled out the "original" $5 for these titles. I doubt I'll even shell out $4. It takes a really good comic to get me to part with $4 or more per book.

Seems to me there is only one "prick" in this thread (one with far too much money seemingly). This "price reduction" merely takes these comics from ridiculously expensive to overly expensive.
Do you really expect us to be congratulating Marvel for this obscenely obvious marketing ploy???

To turn your example on you, if McDonalds told you that regular price for their Big Mac was 15 Pounds but they are reducing it to 10 Pounds, would you think it a great deal?

Are you sure you're not talking about the amount of extra weight you'd put on eating a Big Mac costing that much??? :D

(Wembley Stadium Mc Donalds were actually charging £7.50 for a Big Mac!!! )

There's no easy way to display the pound symbol on an american keyboard.

We don't usually use pounds as a unit of body weight anyway!

That's me!

You did make a fine point, however. Anyone naive enough to believe this was not planned from the off deserves to be shafted by Marvel.
I won't be buying this at $4.00 any more than I would at $5.00.

Sigh.

For popular titles such as Avengers, regular issues are $4, while extra-size issues are $5. I can see the pricing be set because they're not only going to sell, but to "cut back costs".

By the way, comics from such publishers as Boom, IDW and even some of Image's comics are $4. Maybe, just maybe, some of them might actually be better than some of the $3 titles. :smt102

I thought you were warned about commenting on how other posters spend their money? Knock it off anyway

Just because you think $3.99 is too expensive doesn't mean a dollar reduction is a bad thing, a dollar saved is always good. Any saving should be welcomed, not scoffed at.

And is this really obscene? You're just being cynical, and yes, a prick.

..and maybe, just maybe, the cost of an individual comic bears absolutely no relation to the quality of said title?
Pay whatever you want for your comics, but anything over $4 is too much for me!

I would if £15 was the established norm for something of that size. It's not like the £4.99 price point is something new, X-Men: Schism #1 was that price, it's the price Marvel have set for books of this length.
