Marvel Reaches Milestone With Deadpool #30!

The long-running comic series is the first Marvel comic to reach thirty consecutively published issues.

Breaking a long-standing tradition of offering EXCLUSIVE news to CBR and Newsarama first, (unless USA Today, the New York Times, etc. are experiencing a slow news day and need filler), Marvel Comics announced today in an EXCLUSIVE press release to The Outhousers that one of their comic series, the fan-favorite DEADPOOL, will mark an anniversary in June with the release of its thirtieth consecutively published issue.

"We're all very excited," said Executive Editor Tom Brevoort, taking a break from denigrating fans on his popular Tumblr. "Marvel has been in business since 1961, but this is the first time I can remember one of our titles reaching a milestone like this. Usually, we prefer to cancel series around issue number six or twelve, and then republish them with random decimal points and words like "ALL-NEW" and "NOW" splashed haphazardly all over the cover.

To honor the longevity of the series and spotlight this special achievement, DEADPOOL #30 will tie-in to the latest company-wide crossover, the epic ORIGINAL SIN, which will shake the Marvel Universe to its core and whose aftermath will leave nothing the same ever again.

We reached out to twenty-year old Deadpool fan and Marvel consumer Marcus Dudebrah for comment on this historic event.

"I was like, whoa, bro," said Dudebrah. "I mean, I was like, that's crazy and stuff, you know? And my Dad was all like, there was an X-MEN #137 and an AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #200 back in the day, and I was all like, what you been smoking, Pops? Marvel's never had a comic higher than #12! But my Dad is like, crazy, you know? He says the X-Men fought the Avengers back in the day, and that the Guardians of the Galaxy were different characters. I was like, motherfucker be tripping."

Motherfucker be tripping indeed, Marcus.

DEADPOOL #30 by Gerry Duggan, Brian Posehn, and Mark Brooks is on sale this June at a comic shop near you!
