Marvel Reveals New Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Photo Variants

Wow! Greg Land has gotten really good at tracing!

Source: Press Release

What good is having a hit television show based on your comics if you can't photoshop the actors onto covers to make a few quick bucks from the speculators market? Marvel knows how to execute effective cross-branding synergy, as evidenced by these Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. variant covers they have planned for November. The variants will grace All New X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man, Nova, Superior Spider-man, Uncanny Avengers, and Uncanny X-Men, which seems an odd choice since half of those properties have their movie rights locked up at other companies and so could never actually crossover with the SHIELD television show. Then again, the show will probably be canceled by November if it continues its ratings kamikaze dive. In any case, check out the variants after the press release below, and be reminded of that Mark Millar and Terry Dodson Trouble series from the Bill Jemas era.

Celebrate the Premiere of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. With Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. VARIANTS!

Yay Photoshop. They couldn't splurge for individual images for the different members, they had to just take one image and crop everyone else out.

Perhaps you never heard of Mutant X:

But hey, that team apparently "protects a world that doesn't know they exist", so maybe you're excused for not knowing about them. :P

Just to be clear, that's from Marvel in the press release, not from me.

That show was syndicated, and it wasn't billed as a Marvel show, iirc.
but that is odd that they aren't counting the 70s Spidey show (maybe they were technically made-for-TV movies/specials? idk)
