I Might Actually Read Namor - James Robinson Rumor {UPDATED}

Probably not, but I might.

Source: Is James Robinson To Write Namor?

We all have at least one of those characters where we are constantly wondering “Why does (s)he have their own book?” For many its Deadpool, Gambit, Vibe, and Superman, but for me the number one on that list has always been Namor. When I first got into comics in the long long ago that was the 1990 Marvel used to run a “Bullpen” feature in their books teasing what was going on in the rest of Marvel that month and as I read through them it never ceased to amaze me that Namor had a book that ran for 62 issues. I loved the New Warrios, but I’d never think of giving Namora her own book (or Night Thrasher for that matter.)

But, whatever, all I am saying is that nothing has ever made me curious enough to read a Namor solo book. Which is why I am so interested in this rumor from BleedingCool:

Not saying that I’d buy this book, but given good reviews, I’d pick up the first trade. James Robinson was able to make something as lame sounding as Starman one of the best books ever, if anyone can make Namor palatable, it’s him.

Come on, Marvel, make this happen.

Or, like the Hawkman tweet addressed in the BleedingCool article, this could all be a joke, and if it is then I’m back to not caring about Namor, so it’s not really that big of a deal.

But, it would be cool.

By the way, anyone else remember these?

WTF is wrong with RU? Namor is awesome, and that Byrne book in the early 90s (at least the first 33 issues or so) was fricking tits. you need a healthy dose of "Imperius Rex!" upside your head... :smt011

Hmm... you know I've been really liking Namor these past ten years more than I previously did. I'm all for it.

I'm a big fan of Chris Giarusso's Mini Marvels, too.

I agree, Quasar is one of my 90s favorites. Gruenwald at his best.

I would read it if it was like Entourage.

(which would be funny because Vincent Chase was Aquaman)

Surprise surprise, Chap's right again. Namor always has been and forever will be "teh tits."

This is great news, I was pretty bummed out by Robinson leaving E2 so him taking on Namor would be a huge win-win.

Anyways, back to lurking from the shadows of production hell for me. See you all soon.

A Namor book written by Robinson would be awesome.

Namor is severly underrated and Robinson has shown he can do wonders with Golden Age characters.
