Anyways, it's obvious that Damian is going to be back from the dead sooner rather than later.

'Even' Damian? He's the only one who's actually related to Bruce Wayne!

By connection I mean they share an emotional link and in all cases parental abandonment.

Even if there's not a traditional Robin, there's still Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Robin, etc. They is no stone left unturned as far as interpersonal relationships with Batman/Bruce. Robin's a brand, but he's not a necessity.

Thanks for the responses, everyone -- I'm absolutely reading them; I'm a little busy this a.m. with a few projects at the job, but as soon as I escape from the Slave Pits of Apokolips, I will probably do as I always do: Write really long responses to your posts.

Like anybody's surprised by that. It's who I am. It's what I do. :-D 8)

Eventually, but I don't think there should be one in the next year or so. It would be too soon.

As for the original question, I don't think a child sidekick would work anymore (though Damien, for a variety of reasons, is an exception).

Yes I think there should be a Robin and personally I feel like he/she should be the ONLY sidekick in comics.

Batman taking in these lost kids is one of his best traits. Bruce life has been a rough one and him trying to help these kids through issues he's dealt with(kinda poorly imo but hey it works for him)shows how he hasn't gone over the edge yet. Robin and Alfred keep him in the real world.

Without them you get crazy punch you/batarang you death Batman.
