I think it's bullshit. And here's why...

Since Cap can still hold his shield after a nova blast powerful enough to knock out adamantiumed Ultron, Cap's shield must not conduct heat right? Then how can it boil water from a simple campfire?

Yeah, I was gonna point that out too. Plus Remender has already shown it being used to blast Cap across town by Havok. They've thrown all sense out the window when it comes to that. But Marvel fans will read any old crap they print and declare it awesome!

His shield is made of vibranium, right? Or some sort of vibranium/adamantium
alloy?

Not that I'm a scientist but doesn't vibranium deflect kinetic energy? I don't think the heat from the fire counts and in any case it may be that the guy writing the old comic is wrong or he's using a different shield. Its not like he's used the same shield all the time. I imagine the adamantium would be able to conduct heat.

The molecular vibrations that create heat--that are heat--are kinetic energy in action, Keb!

And if adamantium by itself were a heat conductor, it wouldn't be indestructible. Because when something conducts heat and those molecules bump into each other at high speed, molecular damage and breakdown is the eventual result.

But it doesn't bother me either, it's just more sloppy writing from the company that couldn't even manage to spell the month right on their NYCC promo cover last year.

I'm conflicted. On the one hand I like this and Uncanny Avengers. But on the other hand, it makes me happy to see others bash something written by Remender.

That was the first Marvel comic I've bought in like 3 years. At least in terms of a new release.

To be honest, I'm not really a Captain America fan. I've only ever really liked the character in the Ultimate Alliance video games and the Jack Kirby stuff. Every other time I've read the character I've never really gave a shit either way.

My one complaint about the story is that it feels like it could be any character replacing Cap and still be what it is. I mean, they could replace Cap with Iron Man and Zola with whatever mad scientist Iron Man villain they could. It doesn't feel like it could only be a story for a specific character, which is something Marvel usually does so well. I really liked the way that Planet Hulk absolutely had to be a Hulk story or how Origin felt like it could only be a Wolverine story, etc.

I'm gonna give it a couple more issues. It's only 30% completed so if by 50% or 60% it's still meandering, then fuck it. I'll stop caring pretty easily.

I meant type "you people" instead of "you guys". "You guys" just doesn't quite incite the same way.

You're right, though, I wasn't talking about you specifically in that part.
