Amazing Spider-Man #676
Lets get the bad stuff over with first...
The art is horrendous. I didn't care for Ramos way back in his Impulse days and his stuff is even harder to stomach today.
As for the story - it has merit, but character for character, I found myself rooting for the brain boys. Hell Wizard could have taken them all down if he was allowed to try. And that's where Slott went wrong. He didn't allow these characters to be themselves.
The Mad Thinker should have figured out the traitor thing much earlier than he did. And for him to to not see a kick in the balls from a powerless thug? That's not the Thinker.
Klaw? What the fuck would he be doing with this bunch? His limited sonic knowledge is easily surpassed by the others.
Red Ghost is a defensive player. One on one, he'll wait to strike, but for some reason he goes all gung ho on a what he knows are illusions
It would have been nice to get some info on everyone. Doc Ock looks nothing like Doc Ock. When did Awesome Andy switch sides? Is Sandman still evil or have the effects of the ID Machine worn off yet (he sounds like they have)?
In this issue, except for Marko, I never cared one whit for for any of these Sinister Sixers. I've always liked Doc Ock but I'm fine never seeing whatever the hell he is now. Rhino was better when he was dumb, etc.
I don't mind that Spidey isn't in the issue - but when I end up liking the villains that gets defeated over the spotlighted ones, something wrong.
Story - 5
Art - 1
Overall - 3
