Newsarama Trying to Break Into the Funny Article Business

Well, we commend them for trying...

We get it. It's a slow news day. Nothing is happening. Marvel head honcho Joe Quesada has been conducting business for the last week by carrier pigeon while floating in an old fashioned bathtub in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, thanks to Hurricane Sandy. There's not a lot to write about.

In situations like this, some websites try to leave what is normally considered their "comfort zone." That's what this reporter found this morning when he checked out Newsarama and found this article asking the question, "Which Comic Book Character Would Make the Best President?"

'Rama answers the question in the second paragraph with a humorous and self-deprecating response:

Normally we respond with, “None of them, they’re fictional characters what kind of stupid question is that?” But still – one can dream.

Rip-roaringly hilarious stuff. And there's more where that came from. The article goes on to endorse Flower Party candidate Prez Rickard, star of DC Comics seventies series Prez: First Teen President of the U.S.A.

Oh, Newsarama. You're so outrageous!

So if you're bored this morning, and you can't wait for The Outhouse to churn out another article making fun of George Lucas, X-Box, or My Little Pony (and rest assured, we will), head over to the Rama and give this article a try. If nothing else, it will make you appreciate us that much more.

Yes, having greatly increased front page traffic and recognition in the industry and amongst creators hasn't benefited us at all.

Ethan Van Sciver facebook friend requested me after I wrote an article saying he had banded together with other popular artists to blacklist a disabled artist who draws with his mouth based on the fact that he was making comics pros look bad because they are so often late. :lol:

I need to change it up. I photoshopped Robin to look like Daredevil based on that thread from a few months ago about whether Matt Murdoch would have made a better Batman.

That just means van Sciver and those others need to step it up!
