The only things that got better were:
Batman, Green Lantern Corps, Swamp Thing, Animal Man, and Batwoman. Everything else has been either awful or just got a little worse.

Ok, even if Teen Titans was better than most of the DCU, that's not saying much since most of the DCU was unreadable garbage for the last couple years.

I think there's some other good books now that I think deserve credit.

I'd say Wonder Woman is a drastic improvement. Justice League isn't nearly as good as I was hoping it would be, but it's a LOT better than Justice League of America was. Nightwing is pretty good. So is Action Comics, for the most part. I like the Supergirl series. Aquaman is actually interesting....Aquaman, for petes sake!

Honestly, the only books pre-reboot that I miss are Secret Six and Booster Gold.

JLA was garbage but now its even worse.
Nightwing is okay.
All the Superman books are awful. Morrison is easily one of the worst great writers. He needs his own universe not the DCU.
Aquaman is pretty good now too. Although I was a huge fan of the last series though.

I miss Secret Six and Booster Gold.

Ha. I hear ya. However, with the recent calamity of the Sinestro Corps, all the Red Lanterns being poisoned and their Central Power Battery destroyed, the teased fate of the Blue Lanterns, and the mystery of how the Indigo Tribe plays into things, this might be (hopefully) a fun event !

Fingers crossed :P

Exactly. Those annuals had some good stories of the character.

quoted for truth. I often wonder how DC does such great animation and such sucky comics.
As for the story, the top is yes fine, but the bottom? Firestorm continues to showcase Ethan's lack of writing skills. Sales back that up. And there's a lot of other books that should be selling stronger that are - wait for it - falling off a cliff :)

I want to see how issue 7 is with the new scripter to see if things tighten up a little better.

DC's televised stuff has been great, but their direct-to-DVD offerings have generally been mediocre, with a few exceptions.

I'm a bit skeptical myself but anyway...

GEOFF JOHNS Takes GREEN LANTERN Toward THIRD ARMY Event

Now comes news his Green Lantern comic will also have a major storyline in 2012 involving concepts he's been teasing since the title rebooted at #1 last year. While the relaunched Green Lantern has focused on Hal Jordan and Sinestro, readers have been told that the Guardians of the Universe are planning to forcibly replace the Green Lantern Corps.

Nrama: Going forward, we have a lot of teases about some major storylines coming up in Green Lantern. You've got some prophesies from the Book of the Black, you've got mentions of the Chamber of Shadows and a Third Army. These prophesies and hints sound a lot like the things you revealed leading up to Sinestro Corps War and Blackest Night. Are we going to see a similar major storyline and battle when the Third Army appears?

Johns: Yes. You will.

Nrama: Is there anything you can tell us about your plans for that event?

Johns: You'll see a lot more of it in Green Lantern #9.

All the threats for the Corps have been external, and we're about to get to an internal one. And it's going to come at the worst possible time for the rest of the universe and for Hal and Sinestro.

Nrama: That tease we saw of the Book of the Black had a white ring. Does this tie into a white ring?

Johns: Yes, it does.

Nrama: We've been told there's a "First Lantern" who will free the "Third Army." When does that happen?

Johns: In the future.

Nrama: [laughs] You're so vague.

Johns: I know. [laughs] How about... in the not-so-distant future. The Chamber of Shadows and freeing the First Lantern — all that stuff is coming down the line. I'm sorry. I don't want to give it totally away right now, because that's a pretty big story.

Cry for Justice included?
To develop their conscience and consciousness, to make them aware of what is going on, to prepare the precarious ground for the future alternatives—this is our task: "our" not only as Marxists but as intellectuals, and that means all those who are still free and able to think by themselves and against indoctrination, communist as well as anticommunist.

Yep.

As bizarre as it was, Cry for Justice is better than Geoff John's JLA. It's just so....bland.

I read the first 6 issues in one sitting, it still feels like an elseworlds but honestly? The core of the characters is still there and the voices are on point.

I just had Lobdell on the podcast too and it sounds like a few things could be changing in the book soon.

I'll back you up on this. When Robinson gets on b-c list characters and runs with them, he can do some really amazing work.
