Moderator John Cunningham. Superman panelists and creative teams: “Superman Unchained” writer Scott Snyder, “Batman/ Superman” writer Greg Pak, “Superman/Wonder Woman” writer Charles Soule and artist Tony Daniel, artist Aaron Kuder from “Action Comics” and finally “Superman” writer Scott Lobdell.

A lot of talking about the individual titles. For full details check out CBR's article and also Newsarama's article.

Big spoilers below:

Batman/Superman:
Leading a round of applause for DC editor Eddie Berganza, Pak stated that it was Berganza’s idea to bring the heroes to Earth 2, calling it “Brilliant.” Adding that in issue #4, “Everything comes to a head...the chaos shard we have seen we will see it’s full powers unleashed,” Pak said, showing a page of an emaciated Batman and Batman punching Superman. Pak also praised Snyder for his help in talking over the story points.

Pak also said that artist Brett Booth will be coming on to give artist Jae Lee a rest, starting with issue #5

"Krypton Returns" cross-over event:
Lobdell also added that Superboy will die at the end of the event, calling it, “The ultimate sacrifice, giving his life in order to stop the universe from falling apart,” and from issue #26 onwards in “Superboy” the story will be about John Lane Kent, the original son of Clark and Lois. Lobdell also said that Supergirl, “Will be leaving the Superman family forever for another whole set of books in the DC Universe,” asking Soule, “Is there anything to add?”

“Now’s not the time!” Soule laughed, Lobdell telling the audience that they should be able to piece together where Supergirl will be showing up next.

WTF is this rank?

Did Lobdell just give away the end of an event that was just announced?

That has to be some sort of record.

He's joking again. It's Lobdell's new thing.

I was wondering about that but no one is reporting it as a joke.
Yet.

Has anybody had the heart to tell him that he isn't very good at it? :smt102

His jokes are as depressing as his comics.

Because CBR did the same exact thing before. They were foolish to think it true. :P

The solicitation for the final issue of the story says a hero will sacrifice their lives...

Newsarama has a followup with Wolfman on this. Click here to read the full story.

there's a new Superboy hitting the pages of the title — Jon Lane Kent, the son of Lois Lane and Superman from a future timeline.

The Superboy switcheroo takes place after Kon-El is reportedly dying in the pages of Scott Lobdell's Superman #25 during the "Krypton Returns" crossover event. Kon-El's death and Jon Kent's new role also ties to the trip the Teen Titans have taken to the future after their disastrous confrontation with members of the Crime Syndicate in Forever Evil.

We're beginning the series in the future, which is where the character is left in Teen Titans Annual #2. At the end of Superboy #26, he learns about some others who might be able to help him in his cause. In #27 he starts making inroads with these characters, and I promise they are going to surprise mostly everyone when you learn who they are.

Well, we do have a reinvent in my first full issue, though you won't realize it then, and two brand new creations in the issue after that. My view has always been that if you use an older character you need to invent new characters to keep stirring the pot as well. Besides, anyone who has followed my career knows, I love inventing new stuff.

Yeah.

I was out of comics for 12 years. I came back about a year ago. I had always loved DC in the old days, so I started with all DC titles. New 52 reboot? OK, fine, I will start with all the #1s. Obviously, whatever else I read, I will have to read some Superman. Right?

Right???

Man, what dreck ever since Lobdell took over. I mean before it was not great, but at least semi-tolerable. Lobdell's writing just makes me want to hurt puppies, though. I stomached it long enough to finish the H'el arc and then just gave up. Never tried Superboy, either.

I'm still reading Supergirl, though that one is starting to make me want to hurt both kittens AND puppies.
