I think they may have built his return into this.
It is clear that the absence of a sorceror supreme and the loss of the eye of agamotto is a big deal. I wouldn't be surprised if Voodoo wasn't alive somewhere in another dimension or something.

We won't know if Voodoo is alive or not until New Avengers #50 after the next 44 issues of these Avengers fighting the Hood.

Yeah but that event was written by like four different people, and was all over the Spider line. It was also worse than the clone saga. No joke.
