Wasn't the actor who played Jimmy in the 1950s TV show one of those secret old-school Hollywood gays? It's been done!

well since it says introduced, its someone who hasn't been seen yet, so Jimmy, Alfred, all the robins, Wonder Woman, and pretty much EVERY suggestion that's been thrown about can't be right.

Maybe its Donna Troy.

You are correct, Jack Larson was gay
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.

So that leaves pretty much anybody they are set to introduce in Earth 2 or somebody like the new Green Lantern from Trinity War.

That's certainly an odd way to define prominent.

The more I think about it, the more I think it's gonna be Earth 2 Hawkgirl. Splitting the Hawks up makes little other sense rather than to set up that publicity stunt

Not really, I mean Earth 2 is going to be filled with new takes on the classic JSA characters like Alan Scott, Jay Garrick, Al Pratt, and Hawkgirl. Depending on how they intend to use these characters, they could all be considered prominent. Then, you have this mysterious new Green Lantern who is set to debut. We don't know who he is but ever since Rebirth, Green Lanterns have been a very prominent fixture of DC.

This is all speculation of course and we are all trying to interpret what was said. I am still convinced that Wonder Woman is a very strong possibility.

uh.. if they are re-introducing a prominent character as gay, how in the hell is it the new GL? all the big GL's are already around, so it can't be any of them... if it was the new one, it would be "introducing a NEW character" not a prominent...

I miss the good old days when all comic heroes where straight white men, blacks couldn't vote and it was ok to strike a woman.

You're assuming that we don't already know who this Green Lantern is. Its entirely possible that he is an existing character who gains a power ring.

Granted even I wouldn't want to see Richard become suddenly gay, but at the same time, gay doesn't mean evil either. :smt102

i didn't mean it like that. i just meant it would be the least logical choice based on past history, and a name big enough to generate publicity. Dick fits both those categories, and since Dan has already proven time and again that he has no idea what to do with the character (the rape, wanting him dead in IC, "you're a m-m-m-metahuman," retconning him into fucking Babs the night before his wedding to Kory, Battle for the Cowl, etc etc etc), this would fit right into his m.o.

Dick has already had two love interests in the reboot, he won't be the reintroduced gay character.
