Superior compared to what? Zyuranger? Well, a lot of things are superior to Zyuranger, though it's closer than you might believe.

Superior to Dairanger? Not a chance in hell. Not even Lord Zedd can absolve the sins of 2nd Season of Mighty Morphin' which range from horrible footage editing, to lame fight scenes, to characters that were a complete one-note ciphers.

Even with the inferior main villain, Dairanger had better fight scenes, better Zord Fights, better story and even better characters. It's no contest
