The funniest thing i keep seeing on tumblr is that people are trying to pretend like any of these characters (aside from X23) are "popular characters with big fanbases". As i said before, its also funny to me that apparently "having a fanbase" means its "bad writing" when they die.

I'm a HUGE Runaways fan, but they've been more or less forgotten about. Plus, Nico is expendable, and i have a feeling Chase isn't going to die anyways. Neither of those characters, in my mind, can be considered "popular"

Someone said Molly was in the book too, I didn't see her though.

And yeah, I would love a Runaways book again but this sure as hell isn't going to get that to happen. :lol:

(Though Chase and Dk working together should be fun in issue 4 I think it was?)

There really shouldn't be any sacred cows in entertainment, especially this medium. I don't advocate death for death's sake, I don't want to see a bunch of characters being killed off unceremoniously just because, but if it fits into the context of a well crafted story and serves a purpose towards that story then have at it.

I liked Tiny Poison Ivy once Kathryn Immonen was on the title, but that certainly wasn't for long.

I think something that really bothers me about Arena-
Is that Hopeless didn’t earn the death of that character.

Christos Gage spent all the time making us care for him. Hopeless just took it, and killed it off so that his villain could seem legit.

He just went on cruise control to get this reaction from us, and really, it’s going to backfire if everything else from his book is this uninspired.

But this is the guy who admits he stole the plot of the Hunger Games in the book.

God, what a disgusting, disgusting book.

Here’s a big “fuck you” to Dennis Hopeless for killing off one of my favorite characters in the first issue of Arena.

Maybe you should have read up on The Runaways character because NICO COULD HAVE SAID APPROXIMATELY, I DON’T KNOW, FIVE HUNDRED DIFFERENT SPELLS TO END ALL OF THIS, or at least protect the other characters.

Chase is being attacked and she’s just going to stand there? Nah. She’s powerful as fuck.

I’d rather have the characters never be written again than become killers or victims.

Annoyed and sad. Maybe Arcade should have stayed away from reading those “childrens’ books” and more time understanding the characters THAT HE PLANS ON DESTROYING
