It's all just supposition, the pages we've seen don't actually show the character in question biting it. But of course, in a book who's whole premise is character's dying, it can't be much of a surprise can it?

but the key thing you didn’t think of

IT ALSO MEANT YOU COULD’VE LOADED IT WITH HANDSOME DUDES FOR PEOPLE TO GET ATTACHED TO

good characterization, good storytelling, all very important to sell the story itself, BUT SOME BLATANT PANDERING DOESN’T HURT YOU EITHER IN EXPANDING YOUR BASE

all those gifsets of captain america’s ass in the gym aren’t them admiring a dedication to a fitness regimen, holy balls

movies have learned to sell sexualization of dudes while retaining a male audience, you’ve gotta catch the fuck up, comics

I mean even if Academy didn’t have HUGE sales, the people who did like it liked it BECAUSE it had a cast of well-written POC, female, and queer heroes. Why would they think we want to seem them violently slaughtered in a Hunger Games rip-off?

Seriously, this book has become my dreading obsession

I think people take everything too far, but I'd be lying if I wasn't I guess, disgusted would be the word I could use, when I heard about Avengers Arena. It's offensively pandering to devoted readers of several franchises.

I just settled for not reading it, rather than spending all my time complaining about it.

Feel free to disagree all you want, but I think that of all the ridiculous things comic fans bitch about, I don't think a series that potentially pisses all over several franchises with extremely loyal/devoted fans is THAT unreasonable.

I haven't read the book but anyone who reads Marvel Comics and complains about how radiation works can kindly fuck off.

Radiation in the Marvel Universe is pretty much magic and has been since the 60's.
