I had this thought as well, but then why deny these guys the opportunity to create new characters? The Superman could still fit into the continuum of Supermen in that story (and Batman and GL have had multiple well established future selves)

I kinda agree with this, but this JL3K looks interesting enough. Throw in Hourman or Aztec and I'd be in heaven though.

I wonder if GL's are more mystical than science in nature in the far future?

This is a new Justice League book, it's not a Legion book. Nothing precludes the Legion from ever appearing or even spinning out of this.
