Ze rules:

Post your review in the forum thread or in the comments section here on the front page.

Review as often or as little as you like. Once you've posted 5 reviews, you will be awarded 1 pick. You can post 5 reviews, right? That's a totally achievable goal and with day and date digital releases becoming the standard, it shouldn't matter if your shop ordered enough copies of this weeks comic or not.

When multiple Review Groupers have posted 5 (or more) qualifying reviews, they will be awarded their pick in the order that they qualified. What constitutes a qualifying review? Any review posted (with a score on a scale from 0-10, that's right 0!) within 1 calendar month of the thread going live. Reviews are to be at least 5 sentences long. It shows that a) you have at least read this week's pick and b) you have some unique insight into the comic.

Reviews posted while waiting in line for your pick will be applied to your next pick.

I'll be keeping track of everyone's progress with the newly christened Spreadsheet of Fantastic (RIP, Spreadsheet of Doom) and reporting the results in the Current Members list in the weekly OP. When it's your turn to make a pick, I will PM you. If you do not respond to me by Midnight EST the following Sunday, you will lose your pick and I will start a poll to determine that week's selection.

Any week in which we do not have a Review Grouper with 5 qualifying picks, we will determine the week's comic via poll.

If it's your week to pick, remember to keep it at $3.99 or under.

I am not the target audience for Ms Marvel. And I'm so pleased that over the last few years Marvel have been putting out books where that is the case, books i can hand to my 8 year old nieces whilst there's way too many books out there targeting overweight white blokes who've been collecting for 30 years.
That said this start of arc issue does everything right. The art is beautiful and clear with no two characters looking the same. Character and relationships are introduced in a way thats new reader friendly without being forced. Brunos return allows us to catch up with whos who and whats new ("Im gay, but im not vegan, that was just a phase  ) whilst putting the cat amongst the pigeons, and the last page semi reveal of a new threat encourages us to come back. All in all It's a charming tale of growing up love in many forms and superhero fun.

Kamala Khan's stories work best when her, her friends and her family are all involved in them. With this issue, after too long an absence for one of those three elements, all of them seem to once again be present. It would seem that G. Willow Wilson has decided to return to what actually works with the series. I'm not sure why she seemed to forger that, but looking back over the past few issues before this one, that seems to have been what happened.

As you might imagine from this opening statement, I completely enjoyed this issue. It was a great introduction/re-introduction to Kamala and her supporting cast. There was also enough hints about what might happen next (a new girl in school who seems to have a secret) to give a feel of forward motion for the series' overall story.

It was just an absolutely fun issue.
