I missed any negative buzz for the Good Prince, but I was still reading it in singles at the time so I would have just dismissed it had I seen it.

The only thing that ever disappointed me about fables was how quick the war happened.

Didn't you read the whole series in one big chunk last year though? Having read the series monthly for about 5 years before the start of the war it didn't seem all that quick from my perspective.

thefourthman wrote:everything changed... you are insane. You'll see. Willingham isn't Bendis, he isn't going to forget about all the character moments that happened. This will have real consequences to the characters and already has,
the Fallacy is powerless now. He has a whole other world to play with. And some of the rules have to change with Kevin out of the way.
.

IN fact that may be why the new issue read so weird. I may have to give it another read too, fucking preschoolers/gradeschoolers. I am glad tonight is the last night of that. I am tired and extra irritable.

What bugged you about the newest issue of Fables?

I've been reading it monthly since like issue 32 or something, last year I went and read the stuff I hadn't read, because my daughter started reading it.

Again? I've yet to see you make a valid criticism of Marvel cosmic books.

a. it took me a minute to figure out what the hell was going on.
b. it read an awful lot like Blackest Night in Fables.
c. The Baba stuff has always been a little hard for me to grasp, this was just worse. But like I said I might give it another read. It got better after it jumped forward, but the back story made very little sense to me.

Whatever. I might go into all my problems with Lanning and Abnett's writing this time just to make to point to you. Nova is *yawn* boring kind of like GL since the introduction of the granola corps. GLC rocks though.

guitarsmashley wrote:The Good Prince went on way too long. I feel like the main book has been slow since. The crossover sped things up and I can't wait to see what's coming with Mr. Black. And what rules? What rules did Kevin put out there?

Kevin was the story writer, he had the magical link that allowed the babies to return at will according to the mindset of the people, with the rest of the literals gone and the fallacy impotent, deaths may actually mean something going forward.

Fables is a book best experienced over time you impatient git. You can't just read one or two volumes and declare it shit. You have to give the characters time to grow and develop.
