Huh, I totally missed that. I decided to pick up the issue on a whim. Not terribly impressed, but I'll admit that I'm not the target audience.

EDIT: Note that I did really enjoy issue #2, which is the only other issue of the series I've read. #4 just didn't click with me at all.

That wasn't Yoni's review, Gillen was quoting 48THRiLLS.

And Jamie's two-page spread in this issues? Holy fuck that's awesome! It immediately became my new desktop wallpaper.

It was? It sounded so abrasive I was sure it was Yoni.

Well damn, congrats 48.

It was really nice.

I'm still not totally sold on the coloring, but the art on the issue was really solid.

In the end it was between Ultimatum for pure participation or Mice Templar. But I couldn't do it to you guys, plus I've never read any Templar yet. So Mice Templar Destiny #1 is my pick for next week.

story MICHAEL AVON OEMING & BRYAN JL GLASS
art VICTOR SANTOS & MICHAEL AVON OEMING

The second chapter in the saga of the Mice Templar begins here!
The Templar have fallen, leaving the natural world in the grip of tyrants and ever-increasing chaos. The promise of restoration for the Templar and the salvation of all creatures now lies in the paws of the newly-knighted Karic. But as sinister powers seek to thwart him, others are desperate to use his mission for personal agendas. Now Karic is anxious to complete his training so that he might rescue his family from slavery. But his new master is Cassius, a bitter Templar exile who does not believe in Karic's destiny. Their journey takes them to the legendary Haunted Wood, a dead forest inhabited by Diabhlan, ancient evil spirits hungry to feed off of living souls.

Looks awesome, I should get the first series in trade.

I'll pick it up if my shop gets it. They're small and don't always get books from smaller publishers (meaning anyone that's not DC or Marvel). I have to special order my Transformers comics for just that reason.

there once was a fat cobra from peng Lai
he fucked a bunch of women and couldn't die
the art was a bit too choppy
but the writing was tip toppy
to see this was a perfect comic would be a lie.

"to see" or "to say"? Either way, well played.
