I don't even know what the Triskellion even is.

again, NEVER HAPPENED would have been better.

I read the book. I have no idea what those first few pages were even about other then to tell me that the cap/hawkeye fight is a flashback and to let me know that Fury is jobless. All that crap about the building made absolutely no fucking sense.

Hawkeye and Fury gab, flashback - Cap and Hawkeye beat up some toddlers in AIM costumes over a completely intact NY, Red Skull whispers something to Cap. Cap and Hawkeye go skydiving out of helicopters, Cap says "Red Skull is my Son". - to be continued. They didn't need 32 pages to tell that story, they didn't even need 32 panels. hell it doesn't take much more than 32 words until you say oh yeah, Danvers in Charge, Tony Drunk, playing chess.

So you prefer a don't show, tell kind of thing?

Go read your Claremonts old man!

huh?

It doesn't even show. It is a big long fight. That's all this comic is. Yes it is a great action sequence. Yes it could be part of a big awesome story. No, on its own, it is not a big awesome story. How hard is that to understand?

I got the steak, where the fuck is my baked potato and salad?

It is a component of a satisfying story, but it is lacking other components to be such on its own.

What's really funny is that I actually like this comic. I don't hate it by any means, and I sure don't think it is a guilty pleasure like Rulk. It just isn't the second coming.

I did not read Ultimatum and I dropped U3 after 2 issues of Loeb. If Millar was gonna recap everything that happened after U2 it would be the most informative yet boring book ever. I figure the stuff that hasn't been gotten to will be gotten to, I read this as a hook to get people excited about the franchise again and not dwell on the crap that happened before. It is only the first issue and it seems some are grading this as an entire run and as a first issue I thought it was great, it set up the plot and subtly let readers know what is going on with some of the goings on... it would have to be and double sized book (which may have not been a bad idea) to get to everyone who has parts to play in this series.

I am not saying nor have I ever said that I wanted Millar to recap everything since U2, I am also grading this book as its own thing, not part of a greater whole, it is completely possible that this book may look better after the story is complete.

My problem with the book is that it is vapid action. That's it. (And I don't like Posner's coloring in places. :P )

I think there is just a problem with some reviewers because a few of us dared say that the messiah comic isn't all that.

I think we have a clear case of the majority of the reviewers letting their dick do their thinking for them. What this group needs right now is an impartial woman.

I thought Wednesday Comics was the messiah comic?

Millar is just a very naughty boy.

We would split her in two like wet pine!

I can't remember where I'm quoting that from, but it sure sounds disgusting, doesn't it?

So, Punchy, you're pretty much locked into your review whether you agree with us after reading it or not, right?

that was weeks ago and it clearly was not the messiah comic, I don't feel saved at all.

Not in this comic.

Normally, I would volunteer Punchy as the woman of the group, but he is clearly not impartial this week.
