I didn't realize that--yeah, it's a gimmick that would get old with me pretty quickly.

You should review from your gall bladder, like I do.

Good possibilities include:

Batman/Doc Savage Special, Azzarello and Noto put a new spin on these classic characters.

REBELS #10, this book seems to be popular, and this Blackest Night tie-in could be a good opportunity to introduce more readers to it.

Dark X-Men #1, Paul Cornell and Leonard Kirk, need I say more?

PunisherMAX #1, Jason Aaron and Steve Dillon relaunch Frank's adults-only adventures, with Kingpin and Bullseye.

Realm Of Kings: Imperial Guard #1, More space fun, and it'll piss off Fourthy.

SWORD #1, I know we just reviewed a Gillen book last week, but... this does look awesome to the max.

Strange #1, the new adventures of a decidely less Supreme Stephen Strange, it's Mark Waid, bound to be good.

Tracker #1, new Image mini about Werewolves.

Supergod #1, Warren Ellis goes mental.

Throwing my weight behind Strange but Tracker looks pretty cool.

I was thinking Tracker too, just because it isn't Marvel or DC. But I think that feeling comes from my heart.

Since we're all throwing suggestions at the wall, I think Supergod (Warren Ellis), Ghoul #1 (Steve Niles), Pope Hats #1 (won a Xeric--no one will ever find or buy it), or even the Batman/Doc Savage book because I will have to see what DC does with DS.

Oh god--those leatherbound ShockSuspenstories collections are making me drool.

And the first DADoES HC comes out. Crap. Hey Lee, are you getting those for UC?

Deadpool Team Up #899

Now this was fun, but so was Fred's story in Deadpool #900 and the other times he's wrote the character so far but I digress. Our story follows Wade Wilson who is having very strange dreams and soon finds the location where the dreams were taking place and comes face to face with hercules who was in a very similar predicament.

As with any team up our heroes fight at first only for wade to discover that swords don't really do much to gods. Herc is a great fold for our merc with a mouth who over all drops some of the stuff that I know bothers newer readers. The voices in his head become very literal and herc meets up with someone who doesn't like to be embarrased by his god squad via his own title.

The art was decent but being spoiled with Paco Medina and Bong Dazo in its sister titles it really kind of left you wanting Ramos who did the awesome cover. Speaking of that cover, do not go into this issue looking for that scene to take place as it doesn't.

I liked the small character moments in the over all issue and the great uses of continuity for both characters. From Arcade telling Wade he was going to rat him out to merc's monthly to a little fourth wall breaking towards the end I really think this was a fun done in one book.

Score:

Story- 9 (Because honestly done in one's for any title barely happen anymore. Ostrander's Secret Six issue was fantastic as well)
Art: 6.5

Which brings my average to about a 7.5

8)

I was defending your review and saying that you always review from the heart. What are you possessed by the spirit of Rob or Milton or something. Read the entire argument before you are mad at me! Woman!

I'll have a review up this weekend, but I did enjoy the book. I don't read Deadpool or any of the books he's recently appeared in, so I couldn't care less how overexposed he is. The story was fun, and the art was serviceable, though not great.
