I'm actually more interested in it now. I know my LCS leader was trying to get me interested in it a while ago but I had enough on my plate, reading wise. Maybe it's time to see if it's out in trades. Might start picking it up after the first of the year.

yes. Do it. i think it's one of the best comic book stuff in recent years.

DC has Cooke's stuff in hardcovers and paperback.

I haven't forgotten. Just waiting for Sunday. Actually, it's Sunday right now, but I haven't been to bed, so Saturday isn't yet over. (btw, it's 3:32 in the morning; I've got heartburn from too much spicy food; maybe I'll have a dream telling me which book to pick; if not, perhaps I'll dream of Punchy)

Well, it's 9 hours later, and I still haven't chosen the book. I'll go do so now.

The dream thing didn't happen...not even a dream of Punchy.

Casanove didn't grab me, so I'll pass on Daytripper.

We just did Fred Van Lente.

All 4 of the Dark Horse comics this week look interesting to some extent.

I always enjoy holiday themed comics anthologies, but the $5.99 cover price for the DC Holiday Special will cause whinging whingers to whinge.

Jon Sable Freelance is good, but I already read it online a couple years ago.

What I'd really like to pick is Scooby Doo, but most shops won't have it.

I see Vampirella comes out this week.

Yen Press has a large number of books out this week, but they are all trades at $10.99 or higher.

DC Superhero Figurine Collection Magazine #21 Raven -- a magazine AND a figurine.

January issue of Penthouse! !!

Damn, what should I pick?

About Penthouse, at my age, I do buy it for the articles. Not the pictures, not the stories about the truck driver and the waitress. The articles. How sad is that?

Jonah Hex #50
I think I have now read 3 issues of this book and dammit it is good every single time. This one was another great one and done comic, I know Cooke is gonna get tons of praise (deservedly so) but Gray and Palmiotti have written a great story here. Truly a perfectly written comic... tragic, bittersweet, and funny when it needed to be. Cooke's art tells the story superbly, with a wide screen panoramic view it feels like you are watching a movie and his attention to detail is impressive as hell. More often than not I will re-read the review group pick for my review, this I re-read because I wanted to. I really need to add this title to my pull list, I am not sure why I haven't already.

Great pick!
STORY - 10
ART - 9
OVERALL - 9.5

God Complex looks interesting as does the new Pilot Season book by Kirkman.

I decided to go with a mundane choice. Marvel gets our money this week.

Invincible Iron Man. Actually, I had pretty much decided that Thursday, but was willing to take suggestions. Getting other opinions is sometimes a good thing.

I know this will make Punchy feel happy, and after the way he has been hammered this week, he deserves a moment or two of happy.

Love this book... dislike the artist. Should be a fun book to review!

I'm not discounting either book, as they may be excellent choices. And we just did Kirkman...sorta. I think he was trying the silk purse from a sow's ear thing with that one.

I see that Spider-Man & The Secret Wars #1 is out this week, too. From the hype comes this:

"All the answers are in the first issue of the series that takes you deeper into the classic events of the Secret Wars, and pulls the lid off stories that were left untold!"

I just can't help but think they left out a word. It should be "...were better left untold."
