Everyone in this except Parasite had creepy super-smooth skin like those Japanese robots.

Is that what happened? So he's not coming back? I think you owe me like 20 bucks for those issues since you got me into it! :x

as soon as I figured it out I stopped buying it...but weren't those early issues really good? Great art too.

Future plot twist, probably.

I, the Phantom Stranger, who appeared directly behind you on a water tower but did not mean to startle you, am here to vaguely warn you of the dangers of Accutane!

Jude's review says absolutely nothing about the book. It is about the concept, it is very possible from his review that he never even read the book.

That's how the Phantom Stranger rolls. It reminds me of a friend who, at parties, would stand directly behind girls he was crushing on so when they turned around they'd bump into him.

It was quite crafty.

I'm Jude Terror. I post on an internet comic book message board. I live in New Jersey. Why am I telling myself this? I don't know. Now I'll say things in my head while saying something else out loud in conversation with someone, like a cutesy Whedon character.

Every MArvel book through the eighties had the heroes telling you what the hell they did in the last issue in their head so that you would know what was going on. Same deal here. It's a conceit, but one we have accepted for 50 plus years.

I just wasn't aware critically acclaimed Jeff Lemire wrote like a relic from 30 years ago. If I had known that, I'd have checked out his work sooner. :P

People bitch endlessly about Claremont being past his prime and writing hokey x-men stories. In fact, your Superboy review reads like many a review of X-Men Forever :P

I never made those accusations! In fact, I seem to remember saying one issue wasn't that bad.

No it isn't. Liking things that are hokey and corny is called "ironically awesome" and is the hallmark of the hipster. Not liking those things is called taste.

I don't think that people who like Superboy are doing it ironically, it's not like he's from the Silver-Age, he's from like 1992, which is too recent to be 'hokey'. And his current incarnation is even more recent, if he was still in his leather jacket, round shades and fade haircut, then maybe you'd have a point, but there's nothing ironic about Superboy post-Johns.

Krypto has been in loads of comics ever since he came back, he's popular, he had his own cartoon for kids, are those children hipsters?
