There is going to be nothing but hyperbole in my nonexistent review.

I decided to read this issue in the comic shop and decided not to buy it.

How is the Hood so easily to gather the Infinity Gems when the Illuminati is significantly smarter with much more resources at their disposal? Didn't the Living Tribunal make it so that the gems do not work when they are in the same vicinity after the Infinity Gauntlet storyline? I'm kind of tired of The Hood being pushed as this bad-ass villain and I'm still HATING the Romita art in this book.

And Professor X putting his Infinity Gem in the Danger Room, knowing how many times the mansion has been destroyed? Riiight.

This book just rubbed me the wrong way. It certainly isn't the Avengers to me.

I'd give this book a 2 out of 10. Just ugh.
Do you know what the most frightening thing in the world is?

Johns is nowhere near being a Great One.

The Illuminati have been established as major idiots in this arc. Thanos could have easily grabbed all the Infinity gems from their hiding places in an afternoon while sipping a mint julep with Death.

Hence the "could have" portion of the sentence.

But he didn't, so they aren't exactly idiots are they?

Besides, if they had hidden them someplace impossible, then we wouldn't have a story, and a great concept like the Infinity Gems would have been taken off the board.

I'm just pointing out the flaw that the Hood is currently exploiting. The Illuminati are functionally morons and spectacularly failed. If the Hood is able to run around snatching these things with relative easy, just think what ANY bigger, cosmic threat would have done.

Giant fish? Danger Room which requires you to fight a bunch of lame-ass X-characters? Two (apperantly easy to break into) super vaults? I'm surprised Dr. Strange didn't give his gem to Night Nurse as a necklace to wear. (Although that could happen next issue).

Didn't they say that once you have one Gem, you can tell where the other ones were? Hood lucked out in getting the first one off of Black Bolt, and once he has that Gem, getting the others is easier.

And besides, the Avengers have beaten him to 2 of them, so he's not that good.

What I want to know is, if Black Bolt was given the purple gem, why did The Hood retrieve the yellow one from Attilan? :?

In all fairness, you're right, that is a massive flaw, and does completely ruin the comic.

Editorial sabotage in a gross and blatant attempt to sully The Great One's Avengers run. It won't work though, the disciples of The Great One know the truth of what Tom Breevort is hiding under that ridiculous hat he always wears.

Another entry into the Avengers comics suck category. I as someone who has previously liked JrJr thinks he's awful on this book. There are too many females on the team or background and they all look hideous and anonymous. The dialogue about mommy and daddy fighting was dumb and childish and didn't really add to the story at all. This whole story of which I've read just this issue is bad and really paints the illuminati as just total morons and the hood, well I still don't know/understand who the fuck he is. I don't care either. Because really in the end the hood is either going to get them all or get all but one and by defeated by I don't know...he trips over a rock and they all fall out of his.
