Revival #2 (spoilers)

Postby Victorian Squid » Thu Aug 16, 2012 7:35 pm

Described elsewhere as a white trash Constantine, or something to that effect, the new character introduced (I think we only know his last name, Abel) is immediately more interesting and fun than the rest of the cast! I doubt his Biblical last name is a coincidence, given the themes in the book and his self-description as a "Religious Demonologist trained by Jewish Rabbis and Islamic Clerics or whatevers."

The other new character is a little more of a standard, "the handsome love interest for the female lead who she hooks up with under embarrassing circumstances when she finds out they will be working together." Other than liking videogames, beer, and being pretty horny, we don't know much about Ibrahaim Ramin, C.D.C. RCAT Liaison yet, but having typed the first half of this sentence it's hard not to wonder if he's a Mary Sue?

The Revivers are still extra creepy, or at least the "sharp little daisies" lady is still creepy as Hell. That old bitch was clearly made by Timex!

The book is really heating up on the eBays, too. If you believe in the third issue factor, this may be one to get a couple of.

I was a little meh on the first issue, but I plan on giving this at least an arc.

Amlah6! So nice to see you post. Yeah, I liked the first issue, but what I liked about it was the premise, creepy Biblical undertones, and scary old tooth lady more than the main characters' introductions. You know, the whole trying to make Daddy proud of her stuff, etc. I really liked the fake exorcist in this issue, even though he is obviously a nasty guy.

I passed on the 2nd issue after flipping through it at the shop.

The first issue wasn't bad. I haven't read the second one yet. I'll read it when I read it, leave me alone! :x
The witness said Mr Brown then called out to Ms Hay's adult daughter: "Look at this, I'm tittie-f***ing your mother!".
