I think this is just another thing for fanboys to act all dick-hurt over and use as another reason that DCnU is "failing".
Actually, the last statement is a false assumption.
I honest couldn't give a crap about the Smallville comic. I took a peek...the art is subpar and I hate the horizontal format they are using for the digital version. Hell, I don't need to back up Herald, but even he stated earlier that he really doesn't give two cents about Smallville.
I don't have any interest at all in DC failing, and frankly, my dick feels just fine.
My original point is this: cut the bullshit. Maybe you love Didio, maybe you hate him...it's hard to put myself there as I can't truly assign a feeling to someone I'll never meet or know. They put it out there that Stephanie Brown would be Nightwing in the Smallville comic. I'll dig up links and sources if you'd like, but it's out there.
Cut to a day or so ago: now it's Barbara Gordon. Fine, I get the synergy between DC and WB and the branding/marketing they are moving toward. But for Didio to get out in front of a panel and give the bullshit-style answer he always gives in these types of venues has become something as sure as water being wet. Others have already pointed out the hypocrisy of his excuse vis-a-vis the Flash in Smallville being Bart Allan rather than Barry.
Look, I realize it's fun sport to try to burn Herald, but in this instance, I can't disagree.
