Dan Slott has promised big things in Amazing Spider-Man #700. What will they be?

On the Outhouse forums and elsewhere over the past few weeks, Amazing Spider-Man writer and romantic interest of Outhouse poster Rockman's mom, Dan Slott, has been teasing big events in Amazing Spider-Man #700. Outhouse staff writer and resident drunken lunatic Zecchs has all but declared victory in his fued with Slott, having decided that Slott's big moment will be the return of his favorite character, the Roderick Kingsley Hobgoblin, but we're pretty sure it will be something people actually care about.

Today, at the Amazing Spider-Man panel, marvel publicity honcho Arune Singh said that he could not confirm or deny that Slott's Amazing Spider-Man run would be ending with the issue, but did say, "When you get to the last page of ASM #700, Dan has to go into hiding. It's going to be a big, big event. You'll be very happy with what's happening with Spider-Man."

Slott added, "The thing that happens in #700 is the biggest thing I've ever done to a character in my entire career in comics."

So what will it be? The return of the Spider-Marriage? Death of a character? Replacement of Peter Parker by a minority legacy character? The ressurection of a second rate goblin? Graphic dramatization of Slott's sexual misadventures with Rockman's mom? Or something else in entirely?

Peter will be killed off and replaced by a 14 year old Asian/Jew kid.

Issue 700 will probably end after Peter and Mary Jane reconcile and get back together only for a last page reveal of the return of the real Gwen Stacy.

If Carlie ended up pregnant at the end of this run then it would no doubt be at the insistence of Quesada. I would be curious to see how he would explain why it would be ok for Carlie to be pregnant with Peter's kid but that wouldn't have worked for Gwen.
