Overman liked high collars and the no-shorts look also. Hmmmmm

I liked Adam Strange but thought Rann/Thanagar War was one of the worst things I ever read.
Hope this is Diggle at his best. He's done a ton od good stuff I've loved but Shadowland still leaves a bitter taste.

Lobdell explains the "new" Superman black suit and other upcoming details here:
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=42044 "The story takes place on Krypton, and as everyone knows, Superman gets his powers from the yellow sun and Krypton has a red sun. He's going to be wearing the black suit during that time in order for him to maintain any of his 'Supermanness.'"

Costume looks cool. I dig Tony Daniel art, so I'll definitely get this. Thank you IVCNUB4 for directing me to this thread!

You're welcome. I suspect this is connected the "H'El On Earth" arc going on now as H'El seems to keep saying that they should "go back to Krypton before it's destruction and save it". That would also explain Superboy's strange appearance in Argo the day before the cataclysm in Supergirl #0.

A new overpowered Kryptonian character called H'El.
That is so 90's Wildstorm.

There's a lot of interesting things that can be done with a (hopefully) one-time story like this, though. In a perfect world, the story would involve Lex and Brainiac, too.

How about we compare it to a
1985 Tom Cruise and Tim Curry movie ?

are you implying that legend was the beginning of the extreme revolution that liefeld and lobdell are attempting to revive?

No, I'm implying that you usually turn a blind eye whenever Marvel does the same hokey shit as DC.

apples and oranges.
you go well out of your way to shit on whatever marvel does while praising even dc's mediocre books as groundbreaking, it's like you're a DC intern tasked with promoting. i on the other hand am an equal opportunity hater. like in the uncanny thread where i acknowledge cassaday's best days are well behind him.

I really don't understand why DC finds Superman so hard to get right these days. Still, I have some faith that Scott Snyder will do the job well when his book begins.
