Despite a completely professional creative team change conducted via Twitter, an irresponsible Tony Daniels is surprised to learn he's the new writer of Action Comics.
Source: Facebook Readers all over the internet were shocked this morning to learn that Andy Diggle was walking away from Action Comics for "professional reasons," but none were more shocked than Action Comics artist Tony Daniels.
"Shit. I'll pretend I didn't read that," said the befuddled artist on Facebook in response to rumors of Diggle's departure, but what really confused him was DC's announcement that he would be the one to take over writing chores. "They said that?"
If only there were a way to let creators know before Twitter followers when they were removed or added to a creative team. Maybe something like a letter, but sent over the internet. Call it an "electronic mail." Even better, perhaps they could use some sort of device to connect with a creator and speak to them. We could call it... tele-something... telephone? Nah, that's crazy talk.
Perhaps it's better to keep creators on their toes with these changes. If a creator was aware what books he or she would be writing or not writing two months from now, it could be more difficult to make massive editorial changes at the last minute. In any case, stay tuned to The Outhouse for news on any more upcoming creative changes at DC Comics, especially if you are a DC creator, since we will know before you what you will be working on.
