Ms. Marvel has had series go 22, 50, and currently.
Jess Drew got 50 as Spider-Woman
Shulkie's gotten 3 or 4 volumes that each had solid multi-year runs

Outside of Wondy and the aforementioned Bat- and Super-female books, DC hasn't exactly lit it up with solo books either

Don't forget that Dazzler went for 42 issues and X-23 for 21 issues. Spider-Girl is the only female title at Marvel to go longer than 50 issues. DC has at least six off the top of my head.

For me DC's best female titles are Wonder Woman and BoP, both have very well written female characters. Marvel seems to have well written female leads in all their top books: The Avengers, Fantastic Four, The X-Men etc...

I am in full agreement with you that Marvel's female characters are well written on their team books. A lot of them are my favorite characters in all of comics. I just wish more of them were given a chance to shine on their own. Since the majority of readers are male and want to read the same ole shit, I guess that isn't going to happen.

Wonder what a DC version of this list would look like?

How many of those are NOT Batgirl, Supergirl, or Wonder Woman?

Catwoman, Birds of Prey and Lois Lane. There could be more. I'm not exactly the biggest fan of DC, so I don't know.

DC's female characters stink. They're all just their male characters with "girl" or "woman" slapped on the name. Give me the Invisible Woman or Storm any day over that crap.

BoP isn't technically a solo book. And I'd say Catwoman and Lois are Bat and Super related, but ok.

Yet some characters within DC have moved beyond that even they are named "girl".

Birds Of Prey is also a Batman book in my opinion.

This. Also a team book as Chap said.
"Why are you pointing your screwdrivers like that? They're scientific instruments, not water pistols."
"Oh, the pointing again! They're screwdrivers! What are you going to do? Assemble a cabinet at them?"
"Are you capable of speaking without flapping your hands about?"
""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"

This right here. Apart from Spidergirl and She-Hulk to a lesser degree, Marvel doesn't really have a good track record with female characters title wise unlike DC with the likes of Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Batgirl, Supergirl and Birds Of Prey.

Yup. And before anyone uses the connection to Batman and Superman, I am basing this on how long these titles have lasted rather than how interesting these characters are vs their Marvel counterparts.

Their long term success is because of their Batman and Superman connection, therefore it can not be counted. She-Hulk became popular in no way because of her association with Hulk, Ms. Marvel with Captain Marvel, X-23 with Wolverine, Spider-Girl & Spider-Woman with Spider-Man.
