sunfire never "died" AoA sunfire died in Uncanny X-Force. Rogue thought 616 Sunfire died in her own series, but Apocalypse took him and turned him into Famine (same time Gambit was Death and Polaris was Pestilence), after that he joined Gambit and the Marauders (around Messiah Complex)

i remember reading the storyline when it happened, and i just read teh Sunfire wiki page to make sure it happened how i remembered. Rogue thought he died after she absorbed his powers in her book, but when the X-Men came back for his body he was gone.
