Like I posted earlier, it doesn't seem like he was married when this occurred.

Accusations about Brian Wood himself that have not been confirmed aside, it's been verified by a ton of women (and men) that this sort of behavior does happen way too frequently in comics. It's not at all outside the realm of possibility.

It seems like he was in a committed relationship with the mother of his child though. I wasn't married to Amy when we had our first three kids, but really, we were "married."

There are a lot of professions that skew female and are difficult for men to get ahead in.

I'm curious what the line in the sand is.

Depends on how many drinks, in some states it's considered impossible to give consent if alcohol is involved.

And I think a lot of people aren't taking issue with him hitting on her as much as him reportedly attacking her for then not automatically opening up her vagina.

I don't know if women are that oppressed in America anymore. Does it exist? Yeah sure. But I think the sexism here is more of a degrading nature than an oppression.

I don't think it matches up to the way blacks are still oppressed.

Is that seriously the argument that you want to go with? You don't want to just acknowledge that institutionalized sexism is vastly imbalanced against women in general, and that maybe there are some exceptions here and there?

I don't disagree with that at all. Doesn't give her carte Blanche though. If we said anything remotely close to "mansplain" directed towards her...

Well that's what I've been saying. She seems to be more pissed about what happened the day after, but people here jumped down my throat.

It's true. I've had little success as a wet nurse.

I would agree that it's probably not helpful to use that word too loosely, but it is often accurate.

It's a non issue to me. We don't know and even if we did, we don't know his marriage. That's between him and his wife and no one else.

I think it's the whole incident added up, but I would agree that it's the report of the aftermath that is most troubling.
