If they have Skurge die an Honorable Death, they should hire Sean Bean.

I'd be cool with that as well, but I don't think it's a need.

Honorable Skurge is an interesting character that works well in a long form story where you have time to add depth to a character over years worth of stories. In a movie, I don't know if you have the time to do that sort of thing and have it actually matter. You only get 2 hours every 3 or 4 years or whatever to tell a story, so I'd rather they focus on Thor, the main villain, Sif, the Warriors Three, and Odin. Or guys like Bill or Baldur or Hela (if she's not the main villain, she'd still be cool in a supporting role) that would be on my list of things I'd rather see than Skurge as a well rounded character.

i'm just afraid if they do that, you run the risk of getting Bane from Batman & Robin. nobody wants that shit, and Thor's probably the toughest sell of the Marvel movies to begin with.

I'd be totally fine with Sean Bean in the role if they wanted to have an actual actor in the part and give him a bit of the honorable Skurge stuff to do.

To me, the reason Bane sucked so bad was that he was such a cool character in the comics and wasn't just a henchman. Plus, the yellow skin and overall shittiness of the movie didn't help.

Skurge has been used as mostly just a big henchman type many many times over the years, in fact that's how they've treated him on the current cartoon, and I've loved the way they've used him. Plus, if the movie is good a silent badass is a fun character that works well. See Die Hard, The Raid, any movie with Bolo, etc. for examples.

And then he'd die.

I think it's in any Bean contract.

dude can't be bothered to lock himself down into a multi-picture deal. he doesn't want to get suckered into filming a shitty sequel that only rdrs would watch.

it's a shame, he could have be the next Liam Neeson, who is the Samuel L Jackson replacement.
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.

Thor isn't a comedy, so i don't care about the sequel.

I kidnapped him and am holding him for ransom---a 6 pack of Canadian beer, but he keeps on insisting that only American craft brews will do, or failing that German beer. And he's pestering me for some hot bondage nuns with big boobs. Frankly, the guy's a pain in the ass.

Could save a lot of money by making her somehow able to possess people's bodies. Thus, Natalie Portman does double duty as Jane Foster and as the main villain, the Enchantress.

Do we actually even know if Portman is coming back?

(Also, if they use the Enchantress, I bet a dollar they never use that name. They'll just call her Amora.)
