The Zymyr story was about the only thing close to being good outside of the EE story. The Blok story wasn't good. The Magic Wars was bad. There was a whole lot of "meh."

And saying Levitz wasn't at fault for aging the team way too much and writing darker stories like the Time Trapper conspiracy and the last year of the Baxter series is a little much.

Trying to find him the fault for it isn't?

Also, wow, two stories among a ton that you didn't care for. Does not make the era stink or suck or come up short. Again, thanks for your opinion which appears counter to my own.

Yeah - I'd say there's significantly more in the new printing.

Wait a second, they have a different annual 1 and 3 ?

Looks that way. Annual #3 is a sequel of Great Darkness so it's omission is indeed odd (but it really only plays off a couple of panels so maybe it's not that odd to pull it).

Annual #1 works great instead as it came out during the same time as the other stories, it introduces Jacques Foccart and it's pure Levitz/Giffen magic like the majority of the stories in this collection.

I wouldn't say #3 is a sequel to GDS as such. It has more to do with an attempt to revive Mordru and the birth of Garth and Imra's son(s).

I hope the omission means that there will be more of the "classic" run in the future.

And it's those births that make up Darkseid's curse laid down in the Great Darkness Saga. That enough to call it a sequel in my book (and apparently DC too as they included it originally).

Of course with Validus showing up in Lo3W, and Garridan in the new series, there's a question of whether that story in now in continuity. Which is why DC really needed to use Adventure to sort some of the mess left by Geoff Johns out.

I read the issue of Adventure Comics where they read R.J. Brande's will, why was he talking like an idiot?

Yeah, that totally made no sense. Totally needless retcon.

It certainly needs to for an arc.
Otherwise. I can't see Adventure sticking around for much linger. It sells 6,000 less than Legion, and sales are dropping. I can't see how focusing on the Subs or the Heroes of Lallor are gonna boost sales.

They should try and use it to pick up where the Magic Wars left off while also fleshing out the differences of the continuity prior to that event in comparison to what was once there. But they won't.

And they don't need to any time soon. The missing years will one day be told, give it time. Why some need to fixate on wanting it NOW is beyond me.

Personally I want to know the missing stuff too, but not knowing it in no way takes away from my enjoyment of them today. I like having to rediscover them.

Universo got the team outlawed...for the third f   king time. :deadhorse

That's part of the reason I hated John's Superman & the Legion story in Action, because it was already driven into the ground. Seriously, that was the best Mr. Genius Hollywood Spank could come up with?
