Pissed off almost everybody at Marvel as well as the fans. It's a real long story but in short, Shooter was a dick.

After this scorched earth policy, what can dc do really now that sales are falling off a cliff?

My hope would be that they would undo this idiotic reboot but that would be asking for too much.

I hear you, but as events go, going back would be another big payday. As it is they've ruined as man characters as they've energized.

No they ruined far more. I can only think of 2 characters that are interesting now (Swamp thing & Animal man) that werent all that interesting before.

We need to start keeping count of how many times you keep using that quote that you twisted from Liefeld's interview

I especially hate how they pulled a One More Day on Clark and Lois's marriage.

It's a great quote! And he said what we can all see for his three books... And we can see the same is true for a lot others. Or is firestorm (to name just one) not tanking along with hawk man, grifter and death stroke?

DC's problem is that they don't have the creative depth to support 52 ongoing books.

and we have a winner. Outside Johns and Morrison, they have no star writers. And they can only go to the Lee well so often, and even then he's on a book that would still sell without him.
They also made a lot of artists into writers. Some of them it worked out. Others, no so much.
And digging up the B team from the 90s Marvel bullpen... meh

Agreed. Why did anyone think bringing back Howard Mackie in any capacity was a good idea, please?

Yeah, those 3 titles are tanking. Firestorm ranked #98 for that month. That's not the bottom of the list for that month for Marvel or DC. But to say that sales are low for a "lot of others" ? ? For example, in January of this year, DC had the 10 best selling comics of the month based on Retail Sales Orders ! Their Unit Share was a few points above Marvel's, although due to Marvel's higher cover prices, Marvel's Dollar Sales were higher that month.

I hear ya, but there's a real gap between their star chatacters and creators and everything else. Dc's top books fared very well with the reboot but there are a lot that are tanking. In could list a dozen books off the top of my head that are or will soon be under 20k. We shall see what makes it through the summer. I won't hold my breath.

This will do wonders for the fanboy hate that Didio already has.

I've heard this line a lot, but they're really very different situations. In OMD, Peter and MJ are no more and they're not allowed to get back together. All of reality was rewritten just for this and so nobody would remember.

Clark & Lois are going back to an earlier point in their relationship and we all know they're going to get back together. All of reality was rewritten, but not just for them. Instead they were reset as a byproduct.

I really can't see any similarity other than saying they're not married. One is doomed never to be repeated, one is going to be repeated with tweaks on details.
