Josh Epstein However, if the delay is the fault of Neil Gaiman, there's not much DC can do. DC needs Neil Gaiman far more than Neil Gaiman needs DC. I'd love to reset the counter, but need some info from someone involved first about why it's delayed.

Just be patient, folks. This is no cause for panic. DC will crack. I know it.

The move thing was a no brainer.

This thread is a sham and you are all now officially DC sycophants.

I look forward to IvCNuB4 dressing you all from now on.

Zechs too, because he probably needs it.

Why is the move stupid? It's not intrinsically stupid. It's potentially stupid, and probably will be executed stupidly, but we have credibility to maintain here.

I was just thinking that maybe we should do a Marvel Has Done Stupid thread to be fair. Anyone for this?

By an exec announcing it to the press prior to the employees it's ALREADY been executed poorly. It's also been exacerbated by the fact that they haven't fired anyone yet.

Polka dots and pig tales for you!!!

An exec didn't announce it to the press. A source leaked it to Rich Johnston. Johnston claims the source is a DC exec.

Wait. Didn't they come out with New52 books this month? How does this counter have any credibility?

It's highly unlikely the source was acting under the authority of DC Comics. It's far more likely they were acting against the company's wishes. We can't say DC did something stupid if it was someone doing it TO them. We need more information.

The fact that the "source" (which you are again splitting hairs on) came by the information either directly as a DC executive, (as Rich purports) or indirectly by way of a DC exec, is entirely irrelevant.

The company did something stupid by letting this information leak, there is no grey area in this regard.

Information has been leaking about everything in the comics industry (and its related movies and animation) for at least a decade. The existence of a sizable portion of the internet depends on it.

My guess is that double whammy of Batwomangate and Harleygate in one month was the final straw for the corporate bosses. Both of these PR fiascos received mainstream media coverage. Keep in mind that DC Comics' brass sees any publicity as good publicity. They have been proven wrong, of course. :-D Repeatedly.

Let's not forget DiDio and Lee's snotty, hamfisted response to these disasters. If I had to guess, they received an earful from Nelson and/or Tsujihara and are now being watched very closely.

On an unrelated note, I keep seeing Villains Month books on the racks of my local LCS in Manhattan. On sale for 40 percent off. Yes, even the 3D covers. It's November, people.

Yes, I still see the 3D covers on my local shop's counter. I don't know if they're discounted, because I'm not interested in them.

It kinda hurts to look at some of them...
