A good issue, I wasn’t sure about Rucka’s take on the Punisher after reading #1, but it really works here, he’s turned Frank into this inhuman force of nature just hunting down people and killing the fuck out of them. He’s like a slasher-movie villain or something, and he’s the hero! I’m also liking how Rucka is bringing in elements of the Marvel Universe that make sense, like the really enjoyable guest-appearance from Spider-Man’s Pal, Norah Winters, and of course, the appearance of the new Vulture at the end. Marco Checchetto’s art is really strong, and he uses some interesting layouts, which only add to the atmosphere of this book.

The first issue of this book was epically bad.

He didn't say that he wasn't entitled to an opinion, he just asked Rockman to explain why he didn't like it.

How many pages did the punisher show up at all? Was it about him or about some cardboard cut out cops investigating murders he may have purpitrated? It was boring and honestly I can't remember anything about it aside from the fact that it wasn't good, it was boring, and the punisher was bearly in it.

I was really excited for this book too.

Sadly it is a very poor follow up to remender.

Yeah gonna agree, I was really excited and then ultimately disappointed with the first issue. Gonna give it a couple more issues to turn me around before it gets cut from my reading list.

Rucka has said that he's not going to focus on the Punisher, but on the ripples he creates. He said Frank won't even speak in the first arc.

#1 was way too mediocre despite Checcetto's great artwork.

In #2, things finally picked up at least. I don't mind the series not focusing on the Punisher, but he needs to have a decent presence in each issue at least.

That's very similar to what he and Brubaker did with Batman in Gotham Central. And anything involving one of those creators and a similarity to that title is awesome.

Oh I agree (Read my article on it here!) but we're only 2 issues into this run, give it a chance.

It's Rucka so he automatically gets 5 to 6 issues.
