There was, but you'd have to know someone within the company to nab it.

New Transformers Kre-O To Be Revealed At San Diego Comic-Con 2012

Just received a word from Hasbro regarding new Transformers Kre-O to be revealed at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con.

"New KRE-O BATTLESHIP and KRE-O TRANSFORMERS sets will be on display in the Hasbro booth including never before seen KRE-O TRANSFORMERS expressions: KRE-O TRANSFORMERS MICROCHANGERS and KRE-O TRANSFORMERS MICROCHANGERS COMBINERS. Fans won’t want to miss these new figure reveals as well a chance to snap a photo with KRE-O character statues including TRANSFORMERS BUMBLEBEE, a BATTLESHIP ALIEN and STAR TREK CAPTAIN KIRK all in their unique KREON expressions! Fans will also want to get their hands on a special edition KRE-O BATTLESHIP BATTLE-BOAT building set sample pack which will be distributed at various times throughout the show while supplies last."

Pawtucket, R.I. – July 6, 2012 - At Comic-Con, the KRE-O brand from Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) boldly goes where no one has gone before. Based on the upcoming STAR TREK sequel from Paramount Pictures and directed by J.J. Abrams, the KRE-O STAR TREK line, under license from CBS Consumer Products, features a variety of vehicles from the movie along with fun KREON figures based on iconic STAR TREK characters. Fans will be able to see the KRE-O STAR TREK U.S.S. ENTERPRISE set and KIRK, SPOCK and BONES KREON figures for the first time in person at the Hasbro Comic-Con booth (#3213) beginning on Preview Night, July 11.

UGH. They are making it the new movie Enterprise :smt011

Got my Dollar Joe Cobra Commander in the mail today. I've all but given up looking for these figures in my area since the only "Dollar" store by me closed down and the other two aren't known to carry this wave. Add the only Dollar General by me is like forty minutes away and doesn't have them so that made me lay down the money for the figure on ebay.

It surprised me how I expected this figure to be just a straight up repaint of the hooded CC from the two-pack (of the three that was in the line in the past five years this was the best hooded CC) since he uses the accessories, head, and body of that figure. Nope.. this figure's arms and legs are all from the Pursuit of Cobra line. On the negative that means he can't hold his gun as good like his blue counterpart. On the plus he has the same joints and articulation as the Pursuit of Cobra figures do.

His plastic doesn't feel cheap. The only things that do are his paint job (the silver on his hands look like they'll wear off) and the box. Given that Hasbro has nothing to do in the next seven months they could always focus on this line. Honestly, him Shipwreck, Storm Shadow, and Snake-Eyes are probably the figures you want (Cobra Trooper and Duke have empty holsters on their legs due to the fact Hasbro only gave them one gun).

Finally found Fantomex on tuesday, now i just need the Wrecking Crew Guy (preferably the black one so the parts match) and Daken (who i've NEVER seen). Wanna get Madame Viper though. Hopefully i'll find Dani Moonstar easily from Wave 3.

Wow! I just took a look, and these guys don't look like cheapass Dollar Store material. Nice. If only they could do that with Marvel Universe...

Yeah the only negative about them is the paint apps and the fact some of these only come with just one weapon (CC and Storm Shadow are the only two to come with two). Otherwise these are some figures that deserve to be in the direct market.

From the Hasbro Transformers Panel:

There was another set of Transformer Prime figures but they're all Dark Energon (aka repaints). Nothing worth showing of those. Other bits of news is that the Prime First Editions will FINALLY be hitting the USA.. as exclusives to Toys R Us.

Here are some pics of some figures not seen so far. Blaster (using the Voyager Soundwave mold), Grimlock, and the Wreckers:
