It's been addressed in the book. Flash has bonded with the symbiote and he has to keep it under control (with drugs or damage) or it tries to take over.

Flash went rogue and stayed in the 'suit' beyond the time limit, and the symbiote bonded with him.

It takes over him, and he becomes a vicious and violent classic-looking Venom sometimes.
