This Just In: Liefeld on Bloodstrike In this brand new episode of This Just In - Superstar Artist Rob Liefeld Returns to Bloodstrike!.

So this is our first crack at a new webcomic, with the intention of doing it daily. It was Jon's idea to create this television news show strip where Anarkid and Doctor Baby, two characters he had been planning to use for another concept (Jon has a lot of concepts), would spout off some quick lines about the latest news in the comics and geek world. This would be a good way to cover the sort of stuff that maybe we wouldn't have enough time or material to write a long article on, and it would be a never-ending source of material for jokes.

Jon and I had also talked in the past about doing a "modular" webcomic, where the set and the characters would be drawn ahead of time and they would just be placed in photoshop to create the strips, thereby making it so someone with no talent (like me) could put together a strip without requiring someone with talent (like Jon) to spend hours drawing it each week. Last year, Jon drew some pieces like that for a webcomic Jeremy Shane was doing called Geek Readers. Super uses a similar concept for the set of Just a Little More Blood, though the characters are drawn fresh each strip.

So all of this kind of came together into this strip. Jon, being the obsessive compulsive that he is, after trying to motivate other people to join him for a few weeks on skype, but failing because we are all lazy, just went ahead and did 99% of it himself: the set, the characters, and two finished strips, and when I saw the results, I knew I had to ride those coat tails, so I put some finishing touches on it like the newsticker at the bottom. Yes, that's my sole contribution. A newsticker.

We're hoping to get some other people to jump on the bandwagon as well, so you may see those written and produced by credits up at the top right grow in the next few weeks. As we're hoping to produce one of these each day, it will require more people writing and preferably more people putting the strips together in photoshop, so we hope this can be a nice collaborative effort that eventually Jon can sell the movie rights for and keep most of the money, since he's got that sweet creator credit at the top of the page! They'll be paying me royalties for my newsticker though! A genius idea that is totally essential to the concept! Really!

This is probably the longest of these things I've ever written, mostly because SuperginraiX is stubbornly refusing to answer my skypes, which means I only have a black and white version of Just a Little More Blud to post, so that may have to wait until morning. Likely, he just doesn't want to color me in a giant penis costume, which is fair I suppose.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this, and I hope we have the stamina to keep it going. You won't see this until morning, at which point I am hoping all the automatic thingamabobs I set up autopost it on the Outhouse correctly. If not, I will wake up to all kinds of chaos and angry Facebook posts and shit.
