I'm Torn....

So we all know Loeb sucks majorly, but Tim Sale's art for the new Captain America: White series looks sooo good and i'm a real mark for WW2 based stories.

Stupid Loeb, why couldn't Bru or Fraction or Gage or someone be writing this. :x

Loeb and Sale are good together. At least, Batman: The Long Halloween was.

As were, in my opinion, Batman: Dark Victory, Spider-Man: Blue, and the Hulk series they did.

I read Spider-man Blue recently and thought it was very mediocre and Loeb's recent stufff has been very poor.

I don't buy books for the art anymore. It's nice to look at pretty pictures and all, but it's infuriating to read crap.

Sale always seems to bring out the best in Loeb, so I'm looking forward to this.

But art's so important to anything. If the artist can't tell the story, there's no point reading it.

The only reason I'm picking this up is because Loeb seems to "hit" when he's paired with Sale. As the others have said, his Marvel "color" books are good as was The Long Halloween.

I agree with Tony. But then, I usually do. :)

The only times I've ever liked Loeb were The Long Halloween and Dark Victory, though I admittedly have never read the Marvel 'colour' books. Perhaps Sale's really the writer on these, or something...

You should give a couple of those "color" trades a looksee. I recommend Daredevil: Yellow.

For their DC work, you cannot miss Superman: For All Seasons.

I admittedly have never read their color works either, I have read Long Halloween and Superman: Man for All Seasons and they were fantastic. I will say this, I don't like Loeb's current work at all. But, Sale is one of ten artists I will buy anything by, so I will buy this regardless of whether it entertains me or is well written as Sale's art is just that good in my opinion.
