Ultimate Origins #1

i really see now what they meant with "everything is connected"

this is only the beginning, started off with mutants. based on how you think of this 'ultimate mutants' origin you'll either like or hate the ultimate line from now on.

nick fury scene left me confused as hell though, is he a relative of the same nick fury we know? same with the fisk that was in the previews.

EDIT: also the name guice is vaguely familiar but butch isnt. did an existing artist change their first name?

i remember ages ago that someone made a joke that wolverine's got so many sons throughout his years of banging anything female with a pulse. if wolverine really IS the first mutant as they implied in this issues, maybe every mutant in the ultimate universe really IS his child?

I don't know how I feel about the reveals yet, but I really liked this as a read. It had the feel of the early Ultimate minis, where they felt important. It reminded me of the Ultimate Six mini (I might be the only person who liked that) and this had some of Bendis' tightest scripting in a while.

I read it as being the current Ultimate Nick Fury but I could be wrong. If he got all super-soildered up it woudl explain his longevity.

I flipped through it in the shop and it looked pretty good.

I'm excited to read it later this month.

I use mail order to get all my comics.

So I won't bee seeing any June issues until the beginning of July.

It's great for saving money but the wait is unbearable. :(
