was great! I had to get some comics from off my pull list when I was in London, so I picked up this and the latest Fables trade. Good times!

It's worth a look. It was easily one of my favorite series of the last year. There's a lot of crazy ideas...plus a man with a monkey's body. That alone should sell it.

The Outhouse: In a digital world full of ruthless assholes and whiny bitches...might as well hang out with the ones you know.

Naw, it's really good. I was surprised too. There's some of his sketches in the back and he obviously loves comics.

I actually read both of what you read not too long ago. Fables: The Good Prince was an awesome read (as usual) and I was quite surprised at how good The Umbrealla Academy. It was a simple story done well and Gabriel Ba was great with the art. No. 5 was one creepy kid if you ask me.

Seconded.

Forget about the band the guy's in - this series was right up there with classic Vertigo stuff for crazy ideas and entertainment value.

Meh. I read the Umbrella Academy and didnt dig it that much. I thought it was just being weird for the sake of being weird with a really idiotic story

See this kind of stuff annoys the crap out of me. Looking up Gerard's past, you'd find out that he was once a DC comics intern who had fallen in love with the comic book industry and created the band as a sort of side project. (which by the way is very solid music)

He's a very talented artist/writer who loves this industry just as much as the rest of us.

And he's not Allan Heinberg or many other celebrities, he actually cares about the comic industry and getting his books out in time.

This was one of my favorite reads of the year. Loved it and cannot wait for the follow-up. I have no love for his pretentious music, but he wrote a fine comic, I'll give him that.

Great art from Gabriel Ba too.
