Well, that is weird.

Lots of odd info about both Fantomex and Remender's new villain here, Barrister Skinlessman? Is that really his name? Or Weapon III or whatever. Apparently he and Fantomex go way back.

He was a mutant with "elastic, multi-sensory skin" who was augmented by Father and the Weapon Plus program. Then, it gets even more silly. He was dispatched to Otherworld by Father to steal the "Orb of Necromancy" but intercepted by Fantomex and captured and skinned. Finally, we learn that his skin was used by Fantomex to make those weird sentient bullets he used to have and fired all over the place back then. The final page reveal shows him holding up Fantomex's skinned-off face.

Meanwhile, Betsy and Jean-Philippe argue, Wolverine and Wade argue, and I think Kurt is probably going to tap Meggan's ass shortly.

Yeah, this issue was a bunch of non-sense with Nightcrawler/Meggan and the rest, but I dug the Fantomex stuff.

I love anything Weapon Plus related, and this was a huge bit of backstory Remender dropped on us.

It's very interesting, especially with Wade supposedly having killed Father already, and Remender's intentions to play him up as a big baddie here and in Secret Avengers.

I liked the whole run of Weapon X when Fantomex was in it, and like when they add to the back-story to the Weapons programs too.

Other than that though there was still too much flying around on cadaver-dragons or whatever they are, and I still don't get the whole "goat monk" deal unless Jamie's about to be revealed as its puppet-master.

Yeah, the other stuff this issue was nonsense. I'm chalking it up to a down arc, and moving on.

The stuff after this Otherworld arc sounds fucking sweet.

I was going to pass on this issue like I did the last one but I wanted to read the Fantomex info in detail so I bought it.

The art is still insufferable. Don't know how Marvel tolerate it.

... I thought the bullets are from an old Excalibur subplot (one of Ellis')?

I agree with TheBass... the art is mindblowing bad. It's making me rethink adding this to my pull list. If it doesn't pick up soon, gonna drop it.

Everyone hates the art.

Evidently not everyone, considering he's still on the book. Look at Fantastic Four - in the letters page, there's criticism of Bobillo, and wham, Dragotta has taken over. And Mike McKone next? christ

You do realize by the time the first issue of this arc was out, Tocchini was likely either finished already with the art for the arc, or deep enough where it wouldn't matter, right?

We don't know what the situation with Bobillo was. He was probably only brought on for a few issues.

And I guarantee Dragotta is not on for the long term. Love the guy, but Vengeance is the only thing I've ever seen him do more than a couple issues of, and that was.. what.. 5 issues total? Don't know much about his speed, but he doesn't strike me as a longterm artist.
