Ok I've gone on record already stating that this comic is head and shoulders above it's Schism counterpart. It has all the best characters and I already like what Gillen has done with Sinister.

Setting him up as a third party to the human/mutant angle I think is a brilliant way to go.

Certainly better than threats from the Department of Education

I haven't read this issue, but saying this has all the best characters automatically means I won't agree.

I hate most of these characters.

Magneto and Cyclops alone trump every character from Wolvie and company.

Magneto the anti-hero sucks IMO.

And Cyclops is just a terrible character now.

Add in Emma Frost, Danger and Jugger-Colossus and ugh.

And conversely Iceman is super exciting?

When was the last time he was even a featured character? The Draco?

Did you read Wolverine and the X-Men #2? Iceman was great.

I also like Kitty and Beast more than anyone on Scott's team.

Also, Aaron > Gillen.

The first issue was so demonstrably terrible both art wise and story wise I had to eliminate it immediately.

And based on how these have started I'll disagree your Aaron/Gillen statement.

Jason Aaron is my favorite current writer. I would read the phone book if he wrote it.

Gillen is good, which is proven by the fact that I liked UXM #1 despite hating the characters.

I understand hating Bachalo though.

i gotta agree with Frag... as much as i like seeing Storm actually matter to the x-men books again, and as much as i enjoyed the first and second issue of Uncanny. Wolverine and the X-men was much more fun. Granted my two favorite characters in the x-books (let alone comics) are on that side (Iceman and Cannonball)

Storm was doomed as soon as Bendis co-opted here for the Avengers.

I really don't see how these characters can do anything worthwhile at the same time that they're on so many teams.

It's ridiculous, Marvel is diluting certain brands so the Avengers can be half way interesting.

Also Cyclops is the most interesting X-men and really has been since Whedon's run. Frag was dead wrong about that.

Sheesh, you know Marvel are sucking when people are complaining that the X-brands are being diluted to much.

Two issues in and I would be hard pressed to say which of the two main X-titles are the best. In my opinion they are both interesting books. Uncanny X-Men definitely has the better art while Wolverine and the X-Men definitely has the better writing. Ordinarily when I have two books that are this close, I would make my decision based off of which book has the best cast but I feel that after Schism, the X-Teams were slightly diluted. Now neither side really has a cast of characters that stands out to me.

I really want to side with Uncanny because Cyclops is my favorite X-Man and I really like Emma Frost, Colossus, and Magneto but I really dislike most of the remaining supporting cast, especially Storm who is one of my least favorite characters of all time. Unfortunately while I really dislike Wolverine and most of the new students, Wolverine's side does have Iceman, Kitty Pryde, Kid Omega, and Broo. So like I said, for me, the X-Men feel slightly diluted.

I will probably stick with both Uncanny and Wolverine and the X-Men through their first arcs. Hopefully by then there will

Cyclops isn't interesting IMO. He's ruined. He's a villain now. He's Magneto-lite. He's Emma's bitch. I don't like the character anymore, which is a shame because he was one of my top 5 as a kid.
