It's okay, I didn't say it was bad, but I just like FF and SHIELD and his creator owned stuff better. SW always feels a little rushed and incomplete to me.

Well, seeing as how it was supposed to be like.. 60 issues or something, and was condensed into 20-some, I can see that.

But it was still one of the best Marvel books going when it was out. I hope the Omnibus has tons of extras. I think I read Hickman has notes and basically the entire 60-something issue run laid out and everything. Would be cool to see that thrown in there.

As for his other stuff.. I think I'd rank his stuff:

1. The Nightly News
2. The Ultimates
3. Pax Romana
4. Secret Warriors
5. Fantastic Four/FF (until Johnny's return)
6. Ultimate Hawkeye
7. SHIELD
8. Red Mass For Mars
9. Transhuman
10. Ultimate Thor
11. The Red Wing

I just finished The Red Wing a while ago, and while I liked it (I haven't disliked anything he's written to date) I think if any of his works really feels incomplete and rushed to me, it's this. It feels like he crammed an entire ongoing series into 4 issues.

Halfway through this. It's the oversized HC that just came out, that collects SIEGE: THE CABAL, SIEGE PROLOGUE, SIEGE #1-4 & material from SIEGE #1 DIRECTOR'S CUT, NEW AVENGERS (2005) #61-64 and DARK AVENGERS #13-16.

I don't like how the content is laid out.

The New Avengers and Dark Avengers issues are placed after the Siege mini.. so basically, you read the actual event first, then the tie-ins. Kind of anti-climactic when you see how it ends first then go back and read that stuff afterwards.

I mean, I've read it all before, of course.. but it just seems like it was poorly planned.

There's no way to make Siege good no matter what order you read it in.

Siege was good. One of the best events in the Quesada-Bendis era.

It could have probably benefitted from an additional issue or two, actually.. which is odd, considering the opposite is true for most of the events in this era.

Isn't that the one most people hate most? :smt017

Personally, I've actually liked 'em all. Some moreso than others. But it seems to me like Siege was the most well-received of them from the usual event-critics.

For me, it's probably

1. Siege
2. House of M
3. Civil War
4. Secret Invasion

Interesting, never thought you'd say this about a Big 2 book. Guess I'll have to give it a shot.

It's a very grounded crime story, almost like if Gotham Central had been focused on Batman rather than GCPD.

I had Detective Comics at #2 on my list for the year, behind Uncanny X-Force.. but it was really good.

An instant classic, and the best Batman in longer than I can remember.

I kind of like that it wasn´t a lot of issues, but maybe an additional one would have been nice.

High concept, well executed, good read.

Scalped Volume 8: You Gotta Sin to Get Saved

Jason Aaron is great.

Thor by Walter Simonson Omnibus

Damn near too heavy to read. If I get through an issue a day, I guess I'll be done with this by Summer.
