I hope so too. I'll admit that horror is a hard sell for me because it's one of my least favorite genres, and I particularly don't like Stephen King, but I figure that Snyder and this book get such universal praise I have to check it out.

I thought American Vampire was good, but I couldn't help but feel like there was something missing. I wonder if Snyder removed some story elements in order to go from 22 pages to 16 and accomodate King's story. The story just felt a little disjointed at points. It wasn't anything major, really, just enough to nag at me a little bit. The art was good too, I really liked how Albuquerque and McCaig switched off their art styles for the two decades. Overall, I think it was a solid, entertaining book, just not the work of genius that a lot of people say that it is. I liked it enough to try the next volume.

Of course its awesome, in particular the Box full of evil story and Pancake. The later is one of my favorite short stories of all times. I literally loled when I first read it, its great.

I'm a big fan of Kelley Jones, I'd probably buy it for the art.

Is this story worth it? I've been thinking about picking this up for a few months (the trades, not the omnibus), but they're a bit pricy.

I read the whole thing in one sitting one hazy summer weekend with a good bottle of wine back when the individual issues came out so in my head yes it is but I may have a rosetinted opinion
