Better than the last volume, but not his best.

Finally read it.

It has some amazing moments, like the one in which Mina and Orlando are walking down the streets and Mina says that she was used to poverty and hunger in the Victorian age but what she sees now is something else... like people feel there is no point to anything. And then Orlando says that's what happens when culture becomes irrelevant. That moment right there is just brilliant.

I like that part too. It's Moore poking right out at you. One of my other favorite things was the parody of kickstarter in the credits page, besides mirroring the decline of culture from the inside cover credits pages for the last two books, I thought it was clever and funny and showed Moore doesn't take himself half as seriously as the internet thinks he does.

Kevin O'Neill did such an especially brilliant job this time out hiding lots of cultural nods in the artwork and backgrounds. I hope we get lots more comics from both those two.

Oh yes, the Kickstarter parody was brilliant too. I had a good laugh reading that. Moore is very creative. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun looking at ... the credits page! And I agree with you, Moore is not the super-serious guy some people think he is.

Great references by O'Neil, I think there is one with Jack Bauer from 24 looking at his watch (it's like a lost detail in one of the panels).

Yep, Hiro is in there, either arriving or departing. I like to think departing. And I think Charlie's band is referenced on a flier.

Yes, Hiro is right next to Jack Bauer. Those were quite funny references.

I got a pretty impressive haul for my birthday at the beginning of the month. I received the hardcover editions of Y: The Last Man Deluxe Edition volumes 4 and 5, Invincible Ultimate Collection volume 7, and Geoff John's Flash Omnibus volume 1. So far I have finished all of them but the Flash Omnibus. Now, I am strongly considering purchasing the second volume of John's Flash.
