So far so good. My only complain is that the interior art is not as gorgeous as the cover

That's why I passed on it, when comics have beautifully painted covers the interior art tends to be subpar. Also, it was a hardcover. :P

Yes sir, I actually just finished it last night.

Chew Omnivore Edition Vol. 1 - I absolutely loved this book. Aside from the basic premise, I didn't really know anything about this book going in. Perhaps that was a good thing because the general tone and plot were so unexpected, they kept me on my toes and extremely entertained. John Layman has created a fantastically quirky world and filled it with an unlikely hero (Tony Chu) and brilliantly dysfunctional supporting characters. I absolutely loved Rob Guillory's art because it perfectly illustrated the world that Layman created. All things considered, I will definitely buy the second volume in a couple of weeks.

Up Next: Manhattan Projects Vol. 2

You copped that? I thought it doesn't come out til Wednesday.

Also, the Chew characters only get better as more of them are introduced.

No, I'm waiting until Wednesday. I just don't have any plans on buying and/or reading another trade before Wednesday, so it's probably a safe bet that Manhattan Projects Vol. 2 is my next adventure.

Awesome! Colby, Amelia, Applebee, and Savoy have been pretty great so far! :smt026

He isn't exactly my favorite but I do really like him. Is it bad that if this were either a live action show or movie, I kinda want to see Chow played by Ken Jeong? :smt102

The only thing that I didn't really like about the art in the Shade series was how often it changed.

There will be a Simonson tpb in DCBS next month. I think I could order it.

Oh, and you're all invited to read about Neon Genesis Evagelion on my blog. Go ahead and don't forget to leave me a comment.
