Tim Hunter has the potential to be the most powerful magician of the age and it’s up to the Phantom Stranger and his group to show him the world of magic. Each issue has one of the guys (Phantom Stanger, Mister E., John Constantine, Dr. Occult) showing him a different aspect of the magic world with lots of cameos. I’d really like to see more of Dr. Occult, wanna know what his deal is.

Art was so great!

Books of Magic is so great. Gaiman really knows how to tell a story about magic. And the four artists in charge of the 4 volumes are amazing.

Heck yeah! It’s starts as Xavier’s book but after a couple of trades it turns into Rogue’s team. I think his last one was the crossover with Dark Wolverine which was pretty bad.

Just finished Enni's Punisher stuff, goddamn was he born to write Punisher Max. So much better than his 616 Punisher, which wasn't terrible either.

I didn't know Ennis also wrote the non-Man Punisher. When was that?

He wrote the series before Punisher MAX. And the mini before that (Welcome Back Frank, one of my favorites). It ran for 30+ issues, it's kind of humorous so I don't know if you'd like it. How don't you know this?! :D

EDIT-I found the omnibus collecting the whole run a little while back, got it around cover price.

I haven't read much of anything lately but I just got my hands on the first volume of the new Archer & Armstrong series plus the third and fourth volume of Atomic Robo for an amazing price. Should occupy my time for a little bit. 8)

I'm sure I'd love it. I'm a big Ennis fan. I think I must have confused this earlier run with the Max title. Did Tim Bradstreet did the covers too?

Me neither. I got the first volume of Godland yesterday though. I'll read it once I get to school.

I've been meaning to talk to you about that actually. I feel like this school business of yours is effecting my ability to know what to read and what not to read lately. :P

I haven't even started school yet. I've been spending my money on records though. Maybe you should get a copy of Innervisions? :P

I picked up the Golden Age Superman at the Boston Comic con. Trying to work through that but like most Golden Age comics the stories and art are rough.

Yeah, at this point the only Golden Age stuff I can sit down and read and enjoy as a story and not just a cultural artifact is horror stuff.

On another topic, I just read Fairest vol. 2. God, that was embarrassing to pick up from the library. Do they think putting a naked chick on the cover of Fairest of all things is going to really spike sales? Anyhow, it was "okay" but leaves me wishing they would just stop publishing Fables et al so I could stop reading the damn things.
